Brooklyn

Listening to: LCD Soundsystem, Drunk Girls

Bumming around Williamsburg; brown bag, navy slouchy sweater, navy blazer, navy skirt with obnoxious flower pattern, all thrifted. What you can't see is the pair of heels I was wearing that basically ruined my feet/ankles forever.

Heading into Manhattan- this is me checking my phone for directions while still in the hostel.
Brown leather bag and gray/pink skirt, thrifted. Pink scarf from Kate P, belt forever 21.

Some dudes on the street putting up a wheatpaste mural in Manhattan invited us to a party at the ACE hotel, so we popped in to H & M and i found this numbah for $12.  Belt, thrifted. Shoes, Bakers. Yellow luggage, thrifted. Unfortunately we had to run to the bus straight form the party so we were forced to carry our bags around!

Listening to: Wisp, NRTHNDR

bags are packed (as you can see) and travelin' clothes are on- it's off to Brooklyn tonight!
Bought these men's Lee jeans yesterday from the thrift store and proceeded happily to distress them.

I'm using a long ropey gold chain necklace as a bracelet. The blazer is thrifted and modified- I swapped the original buttons for genuine brass military buttons. The silk scarf is also a fun thrifted find!

Listening to: Queen

Chi-Chi's b-day party! Thrifted blazer, thrifted and altered skirt, target tee shirt (navy.)

Listening to: Born Slippy by Underworld (from the Trainspotting soundtrack)

Spent the bulk of this morning in an Alcohol and other Drugs seminar for teacher certification. Scintillating, really. Apparently the month of May has decided it's actually more closely related to March today. And in other news, I'll be spending the later part of the afternoon shopping with my mom, not at the Clarence flea as I had hoped but at J.C. Penney instead.

Cobalt blue velvet blazer, black and white striped boatneck tee, black beret and high waisted pleated shorts, all thrifted. Need better lighting.

Listening to: The National's new album, High Violet

So this was how I started my day- thrifted linen blazer, f21 tank, uniqlo jean shorts and the best boots ever.

Ultra bling ring (total score @ the Broadway Market)

I removed the original buttons from this blazer and sewed on mismatched ones from a lot of brass military buttons i bought from Ebay.

This feather headband was made by me.

Now I'm biking over to Amy's so I figured I should throw on jeans. f21 skinnies.

Sunday May 2 2010

A magnificent brunch today at Trattoria Aroma with the Mama , Abby and Kate P. Ended our meal by seeing a whole bunch of beautiful people, including the Block Club boys, and the Shock & Awe girls, among others.

This here is a little headpiece I made inadvertently when making a removable decoration for this wee straw hat below:

Straw hat, thrifted.

Stripey dress/romper with attached scarf, Jean Paul Gaultier (for Target!) And brand new sandals. They remind me of the ones those adorable little Irish dancing lasses wear.

Check it, I braided my hair. So proud of myself for not being a slouch in the hair dept. today!

Listening To: Biffy Clyro

This is what I wore to RUNWAY3.0, which was masterminded by the incomparable Miss Habes. The event is the culmination of her senior fashion student's efforts at Buffalo State College. I asked Erin if I could take some photos for her, and she hooked a girl UP with VIP status! Love you Erin!

Pretty terrible image, sorry. Brandon taught me about jackets last night. Now I know this one is double breasted and I am no longer failing fashion school. Also, I should sew the button back on.

Yet another terrible image, but anyway, I made this brooch.

I sense a "terrible photo" Theme on this post. Sorry. Here's the dress, sans jacket. Just a super simple jersey tee dress with adjustable rouching on the sides.

My new favorite kicks! Cut-out spectator style flats.

Both bracelets are from Plum Pudding on Elmwood Ave here in Buffalo.
